Winchester itself is a vibrant heritage destination, with world-class attractions and architecture including a magnificent cathedral, award-winning pubs and restaurants and a tempting array of independent shops. This city is packed with historic buildings, family attractions and green open spaces just waiting to be explored.
Our Charters offices are also located in the thriving market towns of Alresford, Alton and Farnham. These locations are well positioned to reach the coast, as indeed they also are to reach many major towns such as Basingstoke and Reading to the north, and Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth to the south. It is also well worth noting the myriad of pretty villages and beautiful countryside which Hampshire has to offer. Although all locations are within comfortable reach of the London airports, they are just short journeys from the airports at Southampton and Bournemouth, providing both domestic, and an increasing number of international flights. Should flying not appeal, you can always reach the continent by sea from either Portsmouth or Southampton. Both Winchester and Alton have fast and frequent railway services to London Waterloo, with the journeys taking approximately 55 minutes. Walking enthusiasts cannot fail to be impressed with the fabulous surrounding countryside of the South Downs National Park.
Our Cathedral is the opposite of a dusty museum. It’s an inspiring space for daily worship and a busy community hosting a huge range of activities.
From ring-tailed coatis to majestic giraffes, laughing kookaburra to frilled lizards, curious meerkats to bat-eared foxes, this 140-acre park is home to over 170 exotic and endangered species, in beautiful, landscaped surroundings.
