It turns out that buyers want a project. It should not be surprising, as properties described as ‘in need of refurbishment’ appeal to both first-time buyers looking for a bargain, and investors planning to resell or rent.
It is worth noting that houses that need more than a little TLC have an asking price at least £29,000 lower than the national average asking price of £366,000, so it is easy to see the attraction.
However, do not despair if your home is refurbished. Buyers are willing to pay on average £70,000 more for a ‘walk-in’ property, which is 19% over the national average.
So, whether you are selling a fixer-upper or a fixed-up property, you could be well placed when attracting interest.
