The process begins with registering you on our system and matching you with properties that meet your criteria. We’ll then arrange viewings and if you decide to proceed with one, you can request an application form. Our team will carry out referencing checks and upon approval, you’ll receive an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement (AST). Once signed, you’ll pay your deposit and make your first rental payment on move-in day.
*This is a standard rental process, but specific terms may vary with Charters. Please contact our team for details on our services.
The referencing process is handled by a referencing agency and organised by the landlord or estate agent. It provides the landlord with important information about your current circumstances and credit history. This typically includes your address history, proof of employment, reference letters from previous landlords and employers and three months of bank statements.
If you’re self-employed, we’ll also request your previous year’s tax return and/or a letter from your accountant, along with any guarantor details if required.
Credit checks assess your financial history and reviews credit reports for outstanding debts, missed payments, or County Court Judgments (CCJs).
The traditional deposit is equivalent to five weeks' rent and can be found on the property listing page.
