Location

Park Gate is in the borough of Fareham, Hampshire. The River Hamble flows to the west with Southampton beyond, while Portsmouth lies in the opposite direction. You’re in easy reach of the M27 and the closest train station is Swanwick, around which Park Gate was originally developed. While this historic station used to export bumper crops of strawberries from the area, it is now a fantastic transport link with regular trains bound all over the country.

Living in and around Park Gate, you’ll not only be welcomed by a thriving residential community, but have everything you need for comfortable day-to-day living. There’s a Post Office, Sainsbury’s Local, a delicatessen, doctor’s surgery, hairdressers, several fast food outlets, three pubs and two petrol stations. At nearby Locks Heath Shopping Centre, you’ll find plenty of high street stores including Waitrose and the larger hubs of Southampton and Portsmouth for bigger shopping excursions.

Sarisbury Green is the ideal place to sit and relax, while Swanwick Marina offers the perfect place to watch the yachts come and go or indeed, store your own vessel.

Living in and around Park Gate with children

Park Gate and its surrounding area is a wonderful place to raise children and has its own primary school. Residents are also in catchment for Brookfield Secondary School, about one mile away. Southampton and Portsmouth also both have great universities if you or your child are ready to continue their education further.

When the school bell rings, there are numerous attractions and activities to keep the kids entertained while living in and around Park Gate.
