Welcome to Warsash, Hampshire

Warsash boasts an incredible location at the mouth of the River Hamble, offering opportunities for sailing, walking by the water or simply taking a moment to breathe in the fresh sea air. In easy reach of Southampton and Portsmouth, but with a great community and resources of its own, Warsash offers the perfect balance of peace and amenities.

There is plenty for everyone in and close to Warsash…

On the River Hamble, you have great opportunities for getting out on the water. The area has rich maritime history including fishing and a reputation for smuggling. Units sailed from Warsash to take part in the D-Day landings and the Warsash Maritime Academy, part of Southampton University, trains officers for the Merchant Navy.

Warsash Sailing Club

Shore Road, Warsash, SO31 9FS

If you would like to get out on the water, Warsash Sailing Club is the place for you. Its fantastic location at the mouth of the river with easy access to the Solent makes for fantastic sailing opportunities. The club is friendly with many classes represented, not to mention a great social calendar.

Warsash Coastal Path

If you prefer to admire the water from dry land, the coastal path offers excellent walks here along the River Hamble and Solent. Gentle strolls, dog walks, evening runs and challenging bike rides are all right on your doorstep. There is no excuse to stay indoors.

Warsash Common

New Road, SO31 9SB

This local nature reserve is ideal for nature lovers and families who want to let their kids run about. With a fantastic array of wildlife to spot, designated walks including a tree trail and poetry path, head to Warsash Common for some inspiring time outdoors.

Hamble-Warsash Ferry

A ‘must do’ in Warsash is to take one of the iconic pink boats across the river. The foot ferries, which run on demand, have been running here since 1493 and a trip to Hamble and back makes for a lovely outing.

Warsash offers a great selection of places to eat and drink, with several pubs, cafés and restaurants. Here is a selection of our favourites:

This family-friendly pub serves a great menu with a classic Sunday roast. They also show sports and have a fantastic events calendar including pub quizzes, live music, coffee mornings and even special kids’ evenings on Wednesdays with a magician and balloon artist.

2. Luciano’s

2 Warsash Road, SO31 9HX

This family-owned Italian restaurant serves authentic food and boasts a mouthwatering menu.

3. High Tides

14 Shore Road, SO31 6GQ

This sweet little café puts community at its heart and is a welcoming place to grab a cup of coffee, cake, delicious breakfast or lunch.

Warsash education

Warsash has one CofE primary school: Hook-with-Warsash Academy, which has good Ofsted ratings. Nearby villages offer many more options and there are also plans to build more schools in the area.

Warsash Transport links

Warsash is in easy reach of the M27 motorway which quickly links you to the nation’s road network.

The closest train station is Swanwick, fewer than 10 minutes away by car. From here, London is reached in under two hours, Southampton in 20mins, and Portsmouth in 30mins.

Other transport options nearby include Southampton International Airport and Portsmouth’s ferries to the Channel Islands and France.
